International Motorcycle and Scooter Ride to Work Day takes place annually to celebrate the joy of riding a motorcycle while also spreading awareness about sharing the roads. Typically, it's on the third Monday in June but here in Abilene we do things a little different, so we're honoring the day on June 23rd with a cruise through town followed by a free lunch.

We'll meet at the Taylor County Expo Center parking lot at 11 AM with a group photo at 11:20 AM and kickstands up at 11:30 AM. Our cruise through town will be led/escorted by Abilene Police Department and TxDOT and will end at Kent's Harley-Davidson for a free lunch for participating riders.

As the days get warmer, there will be more and more motorcycles on the road, so these are the days that it's incredibly important to be extra cautious and "Look Twice, Save a Life". It's equally as important for motorcycle riders to be as cautious (and responsible) while on the road. So, if you haven't taken a motorcycle safety course, then check out Abilene Safety Instruction. Not only will their classes teach you to be a better rider, but you need the course to get your motorcycle endorsement on your driver's license.

Motorcyclists know that the freedom and exhilaration of riding is like nothing else. NHTSA wants you to be able to enjoy a full lifetime of that joy because you’ve chosen to ride safely—while wearing a helmet and while sober. Use Ride to Work Day as a time to review the facts about motorcycle safety, to share them with riders and drivers alike, and to recommit yourself safe riding. [NHTSA.gov]

So, make plans now to join us for Ride to Work Day on Friday, June 23rd. We'd love to see a record number of riders for this awesome event. Click here if you'd like to find out details about our other upcoming events as there's always something going on here at Kent's.

The following video should serve as a sober reminder how important it is to look twice.

We'd like to give TxDOT and Abilene Metropolitan Planning Organization a shout-out for planning this event each year. They're truly great people with a soft spot for motorcycle riders.

If any of the aforementioned plans change, we'll update this page as well as our social media pages.
